Itinerary :

DAY 1 Ho Chi Minh Arrival
Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, meet our guide and then transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

DAY 2 Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi – Ho Chi Minh
Drive to visit Cu Chi Tunnels to discover the underground network built by Vietnamese in the Vietnam-American War. Return to Ho Chi Minh City. In the afternoon, have a city tour to visit Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office. Continue to visit Chinatown, Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Temple.  Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.(B,L)

DAY 3 Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Vinh Long – Can Tho
Drive to Cai Be and take a boat trip to visit the colorful floating market. Continue on to some local homes to discover traditional rice paste making, rice popcorn and coconut candy being made. After lunch at one of the ancient houses, there’s time for a stroll and a feast of local fruits and music. You can also explore the village paths by bike and discover the delights of rural Mekong. After your leisurely cruise, disembark at Vinh Long and head to Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho. (B,L)

DAY 4 Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City
Take a morning boat trip to Cai Rang floating market, filled with small boats darting through the water as vendors sell their wares. Following head back to Can Tho before lunch and your return journey to Ho Chi Minh City.Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.(B,L) 

DAY 5 Ho Chi Minh City – Danang – Hoian
Upon arrival in Danang, meet your guide and proceed to Hoi An with stops to visit Cham Museum and Marble Mountain in Danang. A short drive to Hoi An where you can enjoy a walk through atmospheric narrow streets passing ancient houses, the Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Temple and Phung Hung house. The Japanese Covered Bridge was built by the Japanese community in 1593, and links the Japanese and the Chinese quarters. Phung Hung house, inhabited for over 100 years by eight generations, is a traditional two-story wooden home offering a wonderful insight into days gone by. Overnight in Hoian.(B) 

DAY 6 Hoian – My Son – Hue
This morning head off to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of My Son, the religious centre of the former Champa Kingdom. Your guide will show the full site where you will discover unique red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from the 7th to 13th centuries. Wander through the ruins then visit the museum before driving on to Hue, stopping en route at Lang Co beach and Cloudy Pass to enjoy the marvelous scenery. Overnight in Hue .(B)

DAY 7 Hue
Take a morning boat trip through the centre of Hue on the romantic Perfume River before visiting Thien Mu Pagoda on the riverbank. Your guide will then take you to visit Khai Dinh and Tu Duc Mausoleums, stopping en route to visit local families making Vietnam’s famous conical hats and colorful incense sticks. In the afternoon take a cyclo ride to visit the Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba Market. Overnight in Hue.(B,L)

DAY 8 Hue – Hanoi
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. After checking-in to your hotel take a short tour of Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and the charming Old Quarter.  Overnight in Hanoi. (B)

DAY 9 Hanoi
Take a full-day city tour of Vietnam’s capital. Visit President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed Mon & Fri), the former President Palace and Ho Chi Minh’s house. Also visit One Pillar Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple,Tran Quoc Pagoda and the Temple of Literature. After lunch visit the Museum of Ethnology and the Lake of the Restored Sword. Then enjoy a one hour cyclo tour of the Old Quarter before ending the day with a traditional water puppet show.  Overnight in Hanoi. (B,L)

DAY 10 Hanoi – Halong
Drive to Halong Bay to board a junk for a cruise amongst the 3,000 spectacular limestone islands of this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch on board while taking in the awe-inspiring views. Visit Incense Urn Island and others, stop to wander around the impressive Surprising Cave famed for its remarkable stalactites and stalagmites. There will be time for an easy kayaking or swimming if the weather permits. Overnight in Halong. (B,L,D) (Note – fee applies for kayaking)

DAY 11 Halong – Hanoi
After breakfast, we continue to cruise past rock formations named after their unusual shapes. Enjoy the magnificent view of the sun rise on the bay before disembarking from the boat . Your driver will meet you and then transfer you to the airport for a short flight to Hue. En-route visit Biet Phu Thanh Chuong which belongs to Mr. Thanh Chuong, a well-known artist in Vietnam who has built this palace on a site of 10000 m2 and furnished with antiques furniture and his paintings. Late arrival in Hue, meet our guide and then transfer to your hotel.  Overnight in Hanoi. (B+L=BRUNCH)

DAY 12 Hanoi – Duong Lam – Hanoi
This morning head west to Duong Lam Ancient Village, an agricultural settlement on the Northern Red River’s delta. Visit the Mong Phu Temple which dates from 1638. Strolling through narrow lanes, you’ll see the old laterite (local red clay) houses which make up this charming village. After a tasty, local-style lunch in one of the 100-year old houses, continue to Mia Pagoda, another hamlet of Duong Lam. Built in the 15th century, the hamlet boasts 287 statues, including the famous statue of Buddha, and the Eight Vajra Deities. Ngo Quyen temple and Phung Hung temple, dedicated to two national heroes, are also not to be missed. En route back to Hanoi stop to take in the beauty of Tay Phuong Pagoda’s beautiful architecture and ancient sculptures. One of Vietnam’s earliest temples, it is decorated with dragons and demons carved into the wooden roof. A 45-minute drive takes you back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi .(B,L) 

DAY 13 Hanoi Departure
At leisure until transfer to the airport for onward flight. (B)
