Itinerary

DAY 1    Ho Chi Minh Arrival
Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, meet our guide and then transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a dinner cruise on the Saigon River. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh

DAY 2    Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi – Ho Chi Minh
Drive to visit Cu Chi Tunnels to discover the underground network built by Vietnamese in the Vietnam-American War. Return to Ho Chi Minh City. In the afternoon, have a city tour to visit Presidential Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office. Continue to visit Chinatown, Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Temple. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh (B,L)

DAY 3    Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Vinh Long – Can Tho
Drive to Cai Be and take a boat trip to visit Cai Be colorful floating market. Continue visiting some local home factories to discover traditional rice paste making, rice pop corn, coco candies and longans drying process. After lunch at one of the ancient houses, there’s time for a stroll and a feast of local fruits and music.  You can also take to a bike to explore the village paths and discover the delights of rural Mekong. After your leisurely cruise, disembark at Vinh Long and head off to Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho (B,L)

DAY 4    Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City
Take a morning boat trip to Cai Rang floating market, filled with small boats darting through the water as vendors sell their wares. Following head back to Can Tho before lunch and your return journey to Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh (B,L)

DAY 5    Ho Chi Minh City – Dalat
At leisure until our guide will meet you at the hotel and transfer you to the airport for your departure flight to Da Lat on VN1380@13:30-14:40. The city is the jewel of the southern Central Highland region. The cool climate and park-like environment make it one of the most delightful cities in Vietnam. Dalat has been known for decades as ‘the City of Eternal Spring’’. Dalat offers a delightful mountain retreat and a cool, refreshing change to the balmy days of hectic Ho Chi Minh City. Visit Xuan Huong lake, Dalat market. Overnight in Da Lat (B)

DAY 6    Dalat – Nha Trang
Today visiting Datanla water fall, Tuyen Lam lake, Truc Lam pagoda. The complex was completed in 1994 with the aim of giving new life to the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect, a uniquely Vietnamese form of Zen founded during the Tran Dynasty (A.D 1225-1400). Then proceed to Bao Dai’s Summer Palace; Bao Dai was Vietnam’s last emperor. Then transfer you by road to Nha Trang. The rest is at leisure. Overnight in  Nha Trang (B)

DAY 7    Nha Trang
Morning visit Oceanographically Institute with boat trip to outlying islands. In the afternoon, visit Long Son Pagoda, Po Nagar Cham Towers and the Dam Market. Overnight in Nha Trang (B)

DAY 8    Nha Trang – Danang – Hoian
This morning take a short flight to Danang. Arrival in Danang, meet our guide and then proceed to Hoian with stops to visit Cham Museum and Marble Mountain in Danang. Arrival in Hoian at late in the morning and then take a walk along the narrow streets where you will pass ancient houses, the Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Temple, and Phung Hung house. The Japanese Covered Bridge is on a small stream and was built by the Japanese community back in 1593. It links the Japanese and the Chinese quarters. Phung Hung house is a traditional two-story wooden house, inhabited over 100 years by eight generations and it offers a nice insight into days gone by. Overnight in Hoian (B)

DAY 9    Hoian – My Son – Hue
This morning head off to My Son, the capital and religious centre of the former Champa Kingdom. Here, 40km southwest of Hoi An in a lush green valley, discover a wealth of unique, red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from between the seventh and thirteenth centuries. Wander through the ruins then visit the little museum at the My Son entrance before driving to Hue with stop en route at Lang Co beach and Cloudy Pass to enjoy the marvelous scenery. Check in hotel in Hue. Overnight in Hue (B)

DAY 10    Hue
Take a morning boat trip through the centre of Hue on the romantic Perfume River. Visit Thien Mu Pagoda along the riverbank. Transfer by car to visit Khai Dinh and Tu Duc Mausoleums. En route, visit local families making Vietnam’s famous conical hats and colorful incense. In the afternoon take a cyclo ride to visit the Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba Market. Overnight in Hue (B,L)

DAY 11    Hue – Hanoi
In the morning transfer to Hue airport for flight to Hanoi. Take a mini orientation tour of Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple. Continue to discover the bustling streets of the Old Quarter. Overnight in Hanoi (B)

DAY 12    Hanoi
Take a full-day city tour of Vietnam’s capital. Visit President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed on Mon & Fri & all afternoons), former President Palace (from outside) and Ho Chi Minh’s house. Continue to visit One Pillar Pagoda, Quan Thanh Temple and Tran Quoc Pagoda. Continue to visit Temple of Literature. Afternoon, visit the Museum of Ethnology. End of the day with a visit to the Lake of the Restored Sword and a one hour cyclo tour of the Old Quarter. Enjoy water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi (B,L)

DAY 13    Hanoi – Lao Cai
Free until we transfer you to the railway station for an overnight train to Lao Cai.    On Train (B)

DAY 14    Lao Cai – Ham Rong – Cat Cat – Y Linh Ho – Sapa
Pick up at Lao Cai Station transfer to Sapa for breakfast. Guide will take you to visit Ham Rong mountain, visit an orchid garden 1, orchid garden 2 with all kinds of racing colors of wild orchid, visit European gardens. Continue to visit Heaven Gate, Cloud Yard. On the way you can enjoy fresh air and enjoy the beautiful forest flowers, enjoy the panoramic town of Sapa. Follow a road going downhill to Cat Cat village. You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station for a while before continuing the trek on a dirt trail through rice paddy terraces. You also will enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river. You eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority. Then you back to Sapa for rest. Overnight in Sapa (B,L)

DAY 15    Sapa – Mong Sen – Ta Phin – Lao Cai
Leaving Sapa at 08.30 m, transfer 15km by road to the Mong Sen Bridge with several stops along the way for enjoying spectacular landscapes. Start walking along large dirt path for nearly an hour, then following a narrow dirt trail winding its way on steep hill-sides along the eastern bank of the Mong Sen stream for 2 hours to Mong Sen 2 village which consisted of three isolated hamlets of the Black Hmong and Red Zao people. Spend an hour to explore these hamlets for interesting discovery, then lunch break.Continue hiking along the same trail for nearly an hour up and downhill towards Ta Phin Valley and arrive to Ta Phin commune in mid afternoon. Take a walk around this stunning valley, paying visit to some Red Zao families. The Red Zao women are famous for their handicraft skills, especially the embroidery for decorating their traditional costumes with motifs that depicts their religion, believe or description of the nature surrounding… Then we transfer you to Lao cai station for an overnight train to Hanoi. On Train (B,L)

DAY 16    Hanoi – Halong
Drive to Halong Bay to board a junk for a cruise amongst the 3,000 spectacular limestone islands of this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch on board while taking in the awe-inspiring views. Visit Incense Urn Island and others, stop to wander around the impressive Surprising Cave famed for its remarkable stalactites and stalagmites. If time permits, they will be opportunities for easy kayaking or swimming. Overnight in Halong (B,L,D) (Note – fee applies for kayaking)

DAY 17    Halong – Hanoi
After breakfast, we continue to cruise past rock formations named after their unusual shapes. Enjoy the magnificent view of the sun rise on the bay before disembarking from the boat . Your driver will meet you and then transfer you to the airport for a short flight to Hue. En-route visit  Biet Phu Thanh Chuong which belongs to Mr. Thanh Chuong, a well-known artist in Vietnam who has built this palace on a site of 10000 m2 and furnished with antiques furniture and his paintings. Overnight in Hanoi (B+L=BRUNCH)

DAY 18    Hanoi Departure
At leisure until transfer to the airport for onward flight. (B)
