Your Itinerary
Your guide and driver will pick you up early at 0700 to catch the morning sun and watch Saigon come to life. With the light morning traffic, a local, open style van is a great way to take in the atmosphere of the city at daybreak. At Tao Dan Park, locals practise their morning exercises – Tai Chi, aerobics and badminton. Ambling gently around the pretty park, you’re likely to see the faithful at prayer in the pagoda. Vietnamese Buddhism works peacefully alongside the ancient Chinese philosophy of Taoism as well as indigenous Vietnamese religions. Move on to a local wet market where shoppers barter for the plentiful fresh produce on offer. You’ll find lively stalls selling everything from dried meats to live seafood and fresh, colourful vegetables and housewares. Time to sample a typical local breakfast… Alongside the locals at Pho 24 Restaurant, sample a steaming bowl of savoury pho (noodle soup), Vietnam’s delicious national dish. Complete your morning with a café sua da in one of the city’s coffee houses, popular meeting spots for local students, businesspeople, artisans and city trendsetters – a people-watching paradise! Transfer back to your hotel at about 1000.
