Your Itinerary
It’s an 0800 departure from the southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival in Ben Tre Province (locally known as ‘the rice bowl of Vietnam’), head towards Tien Giang where you board your boat for a cruise among the aptly named Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle and Phoenix Islands. En route, visit a small factory producing handicrafts made of coconut and drop in at Turtle Island to taste exotic fruit in a tropical orchard. After the boat trip, take a ride on a horse-drawn cart along country roads to the famed garden of Mr Tam Nen: his bees produce wonderful honey – and you’re welcome to taste! Then step aboard a smaller rowing boat for an adventurous cruise through a forest of palm trees on the Xep Canal. Embark once more and set off for Turtle Island where a fine array of Mekong delicacies awaits you for lunch. In the afternoon return to Ben Tre for a visit to the stunning Vinh Trang Pagoda, an architectural gem set in verdant ornamental gardens. After this enchanting tour, head back to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving in the late afternoon.
